The Greek yogurt dip!
When you think of Greece, probably one of the first things that come to mind is Tzatziki, that heavenly creamy zingy accompaniment that the Greeks love to dunk their bread into. This recipe serves a generous helping for four people, if you can find yogurt brands like ‘Total’ and ‘Fage’, it makes for the perfect consistency. Kali orexi!
500 grams of strained natural yogurt or traditional Greek yogurt, ”Total, Fage” is a good idea, in case you use Greek-style yogurt you have to drain the cucumber of the water.
2 cloves of garlic, finely grated
200 grams of cucumber, finely grated
1 handfull of chopped dill
4 tablespoons of vinegar
6 tablespoons of olive oil
A pinch of salt to taste
Finely grate the cucumber and garlic into a bowl.
Add the yogurt, the olive oil, vinegar, and salt. Finish by adding the dill. Stir until well combined. Taste and alter according to your taste preference. Enjoy with slices of fresh chunky bread or warm pita bread.
